02 / PERSONAL PROJECTS

Projects built from curiosity.

Sometimes the idea is software. Sometimes it has moving parts. Either way, I like following a problem through sketches, prototypes, testing, and the next iteration.

✳

Story Stack screenshots and Booze Bucket photos come from the projects. The Boring Launcher image was edited to hide personal app names; the Codex workflows visual is illustrative.

01 / STORY STACK

Books to listen to, wherever you are.

Story Stack is a self-hosted audiobook library I built with AI coding tools. It pairs a responsive React interface with an Express API and SQLite storage for libraries, shelves, and playback progress.

I added device-local downloads and queued synchronization so listening and library changes can catch up when connectivity returns. The project also includes account sign-in, invite-based sharing, automated tests, and Docker deployment setup.

02 / BOOZE BUCKET

A minibar with a lot of thinking inside.

I designed and fabricated a rotating minibar that fits inside a five-gallon bucket. It holds glasses for four people, two 750 mL bottles, and four 12 oz cans.

Across 14 prototypes over two years, I solved assembly alignment with mortise-and-tenon connections and CNC registration jigs. I also worked around the bucket’s tapered interior and irregular bottle shapes to make the layout more useful.

03 / BORING LAUNCHER

Making a phone a little more boring. On purpose.

Boring Launcher is a custom Android home screen built around a text-only app list. It skips icons, widgets, feeds, badges, and animations so finding an app is the main event.

It still handles the useful details: a chosen home list, searchable app names and aliases, expandable categories, hidden apps, and long-press shortcuts for organizing or managing an app.

04 / CODEX SKILLS & WORKFLOWS

Make the next good idea easier to build.

I create reusable Codex skills and AI-assisted workflows across independent app projects. They help with prototyping, documentation, and test planning.

I refine instructions and application behavior through iteration and troubleshooting, with human review as part of the process.

WHY I BUILD

There’s always another way to learn.

Personal projects let me follow a question past the obvious answer. Sometimes the result is a useful tool. Sometimes it’s a better understanding of the problem. Both are worth making time for.

CURIOUS TOO?

Let’s swap ideas.
